Greetings all:

At long last, "Yawn + House = Explosion" (20ML's new CD), will be released locally on January 8th, 2005. Our National release will come slightly later in February. Out-of-towners need not fret, for the album will be available online come January 8th.

You locals should come celebrate with us when we perform on Saturday, January 8th at the Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco with local favorites elephone and Every Move a Picture. We promise a faintly bizarre evening of food, multimedia, horn sections, and the art of the mysterious 12-year-old descendant of the Romanov family, Sofia, who has contributed illustrations, stories, blessings, and her own eerie, chicken-bearing photogenic self to our album art. Some say she has the blood of Rasputin in her.

Meanwhile, this Saturday, November 27th, 20ML enjoys four hours of the scenic I-5 South in order to perform in Visalia at 9pm (Howie and Sons 2430 S. Mooney Blvd., all ages, w/ Bolex Rex).

A little known fact about the Central Valley interstate: Beside every gas station and fast food restaurant, littering the berms and vacant dirt lots, are plastic gallon milk jugs full of stale truckdriver urine, tossed aside like golden treasure. Who knows what genie would emerge if anyone dared to rub the side of one of them?

Visalia is the town that will soon become the name of an American car model:
“The new Buick Visalia”
“The all-wheel drive Chevy Visalia”
Or a venereal disease, or an emo band, or an encryption of I, Saliva, or a new kind of onion.

But more importantly, our friend Katherine lives in Visalia, a woman with a floor to support our weary bones for one night. Katherine has a business selling earthquake supply kits, plastic buckets full of bandages, water bottles, spackle (for the cracks), crossword puzzles, iodine tablets, and fingernail polish. She also teaches ballroom dancing and manages an Armenian restaurant. On weekends, she enjoys kickboxing. She drives a powder-blue Impala. She has Visalia wrapped around her little finger. She is a member of the Better Business Bureau.
